Clio: One of the nine Greek muses, the muse of history.
- "Clio the "Proclaimer" is the muse of history and is often seen sitting alone with a scroll and accompanied by a chest of books. She has been credited with introducing the Phoenician alphabet into Greece. Clio had teased Aphrodite's love of Adonis, and in consequence of her wrath, Clio fell in love with Pierius, the son of Magnes and the king of Macedonia. By Pierus, she bore Hyacinth."
Clio has also been personified as:
" Muse Clio is the scholar or researcher who ignites the desire to record, to investigate, and to give an account of events in time. From recording our past, we learn from both our triumphs and our mistakes, and are thus able to plan for the future.
Muse Clio can be found walking in the garden, hoping to find friends, both old and new. She enjoys telling stories of the past, sometimes true history and sometimes fanciful stories of what "might have been." Listening to the stories of the people she meets, and recording them for future readers is also of great importance to this lover of history. "
Clio has become my inspiration, to hold the past as a key to what our future might become, to me is the most wise view of the world and our place in it. To not only look at the single present view of the world, but to the many past worlds in our own; makes it so much more dimentional. Not only when the multi-views of space are observed, but when the multi-views of time are observed as well does the earth become round, and the same can be applied to humanity and the individual, the person. To know not only the physical depth of the person, but the mental depth, the history of their lives, do you actually know the person, their world, the world.
I am writing a movie, the character's name is Clio, she is a modern day personification of Clio (and yes the image is what she looks like)...details soon!
I am VERY tired....sorry if that didn't make sense....
Awesome *favourites. Are you planning on drawing the neck though? The head looks a bit suspended in mid air. Clio looks great Loved how you tied it with Greek mythology.
